Dr. Carillo attended Adelphi University in Garden City, New York where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology, graduating with Honors, Summa Cum Laude. He went on to attend the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia where he graduated as valedictorian of his class and received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1986. Following graduation, he remained at the college where he completed a 1-year elective residency program focusing on primary eye care and ocular disease. During that time, he was also responsible for the training of students in all aspects of clinical eye care.
In 1987, following his residency, Dr. Carillo moved with his wife to Bethel, Connecticut where he spent the next 34 years in the Norwalk office of Opticare Eye Health Centers, a large multi-specialty eye care group practicing full scope medical Optometry. There, he practiced side by side with many of Connecticut’s top ophthalmic surgeons and developed a very loyal patient following. In 2021, following COVID and the sale of Opticare, he retired and moved to Myrtle Beach. In August of 2023, after 2 years of the “quiet retired life” he was contacted by Dr. Lowe and, having missed patient care, decided to join him at For Your Eyes Site. Dr. Carillo is happy to be here providing exceptional eyecare to the residents of the Myrtle Beach area.
